As of June 29, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have taken equity in the crypt firm FTX. The duo will serve as ambassadors for FTX, and Bündchen will serve as an environmental and social initiatives advisor for the firm.
FTX has become one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges since launching two years ago, with Sam Bankman-Fried leading the charge as founder and CEO. The company was in the market for partnerships of this caliber, but never found the right people who were enthusiastic about the firm’s work until Brady and Bündchen came along.
Brady has been an advocate for crypto publicly over the past year, and in May, changed his Twitter profile to show him with “laser eyes,” which is an undercover way of showing support for the industry as a whole.
Bankman-Fried states in an interview with Bloomberg, “This isn’t the first time that they’ve been involved in crypto, not the first time they’ve thought about it or even used it, which I think makes it a much more natural and authentic partnership.”
FTX had donated to charities as a leading pillar in its mission as a company. For the duration of Brady and Bündchen’s partnership with the company, they have committed to multimillion annual donations, with Bündchen offering insight as to what charities to gift the donations.
This furthers FTX’s roster of football partnerships, with Trevor Lawrence as a spokesperson for Blockfolio, which they acquired for $150 million in August.
